A primary objective of the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy is to make the UK a safer place to conduct online business.
The Cyber Essentials Scheme is a government backed, industry supported certification which allows organisations to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers, and stakeholders that they have implemented essential security controls to protect themselves against common cyber-attacks.
In addition to Cyber Essentials is the + certification which is an onsite hands-on technical test. This further shows to stakeholders that you have carried out extra verification.
As of October 2014, this is now a mandatory requirement for many Central Government contracts and supply chains.
