Morgan & Morgan Wins Member Sustainability of the Year Award for Exemplary Environmental Practices at the 2023 Network Group Gala in Leeds.

We are thrilled to announce that Morgan & Morgan, a leading IT company based in Wales, has been honoured with the prestigious Member Sustainability of the Year award in the esteemed Network Group Community. This recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to implementing sustainable practices and reducing our environmental footprint. It also showcases our dedication to creating a healthier future for Wales and our planet.

In today's world, sustainability is more than just a buzzword; securing a healthy future for the country we love and the planet we occupy is necessary. At Morgan & Morgan, we firmly believe that 2023 is a pivotal point in raising awareness about the adverse effects of climate change and environmental degradation. As businesses worldwide adopt eco-friendly practices to reduce their carbon footprint and waste, our ultimate goal is to become Carbon Neutral.

Our journey towards sustainability began in 2005 when we constructed our purpose-built 15,000-square-foot building. Since then, we have continuously invested in sustainable practices and infrastructure, striving to lead by example. We have achieved ISO14001 certification for the past seven years, as well as the Welsh Green Dragon Environmental standard. These certifications serve as more than mere targets or labels; they represent our ongoing commitment to sustainable operations.

While reducing waste and being eco-friendly are important steps, we go beyond that by championing sustainability across our business and that of our clients. We firmly believe that we all have a responsibility to protect the environment, and our dedicated team is tirelessly working towards achieving this goal.

Our sustainable practices.

Over the years, Morgan & Morgan has implemented numerous sustainable practices, some of which include:

1. Energy Efficiency: Our purpose-built facility incorporates Kingspan Quadcore Insulated Panels, ensuring lifetime thermal and enhanced environmental performance. Structural curtain walling and aluminum windows achieve the highest U-Values, maximising energy efficiency. Additionally, our office heating is supported by heat exchangers, minimising energy consumption.

2. Renewable Energy: We have taken significant steps to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels by adopting the British Gas Green Energy Tariff, making us one of only two companies in the UK to support renewable energy sources in 2006. Furthermore, we have installed a Solar PV system with a 47 kW battery storage solution. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also demonstrates our commitment to mitigating climate change.

3. Waste Reduction: Our commitment to waste reduction is evident through our comprehensive recycling programs. We recycle IT equipment, breaking it down to component level for reuse whenever possible, and partner with recycling providers to ensure responsible disposal. Our client cartridge recycling scheme successfully recycles thousands of cartridges annually, minimising e-waste and promoting a circular economy.

4. Sustainable Transportation: To promote sustainable transportation, we have installed electric charge points for our staff and company electric vehicle fleet which is now 70% of all company vehicles. This encourages the adoption of electric vehicles and contributes to reducing emissions.

5. Local Partnerships: As part of our commitment to supporting the local economy, we have partnered with a nearby farmer to offer a milk vending machine in our car park. This initiative enables the local community to purchase fresh, locally produced milk while reducing transportation emissions and supporting sustainable agriculture within a 10-mile radius.

Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond our own operations. We actively collaborate with like-minded organisations and peer groups to promote sustainability and foster a culture of environmental consciousness in our community. By leading by example and inspiring others, we strive to create a ripple effect of positive change.

Winning the Member Sustainability of the Year award is a testament to our efforts and achievements. It recognises our commitment to sustainability and encourages us to continue being leaders in this space. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the planet and our community.
